Yheu-Shen Chua 's Re-Imagining the Hoover Dam is a Daring Design
Meghan Young — March 10, 2011 — Art & Design
As I look at the Re-Imagining the Hoover Dam concept, I can't help but think that this should have been the winner of this year's eVolo 2011 Skyscraper Competition. Of course, I then look at who took first place, the LO2P: Delhi Recycling Center, and I realize that the contest attracted an overwhelming slew of amazing concepts. Talk about steep competition.
Designed by United Kingdom architect Yheu-Shen Chua, the Re-Imagining the Hoover Dam concept introduces viewing platform, bridge and gallery into one sinuous organic structure. By reconfiguring these stations into one vertical super structure, it offers a unique experience all around.
The Re-Imagining the Hoover Dam concept would also house a vertical aquarium to show off the 700-foot drop into the Black Canyon. A daring design for possibly daring visitors, I guess.
