The Rainbow Flag has been a longstanding symbol for the LGBTQ community but graphic designer Daniel Quasar has recently unveiled a redesigned flag that places a greater emphasis on "inclusion and progression." Dubbed the Progress Pride Flag, the redesigned Rainbow Flag adds five arrow-shaped lines to the traditional LGBTQ flag in support of groups that are often marginalized in the LGBTQ community.
The new colors added to the Rainbow Flag include black, brown, light blue, pink and white. These colors are meant to represent LGBTQ communities of color as well as incorporating colors used on the Transgender Pride Flag. Quasar hopes that his newly designed flag will place a greater emphasis on inclusion and progression, and could be a symbol for even more people who identify within the LGBTQ community.
