This R2-D2 Plane is apart of the recently announced 'Star Wars Project' from All Nippon Airways. The first stage of the project will feature a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner transformed with a R2-D2 painted livery.
The planned R2-D2 Plane is similar to EVA's Hello Kitty-themed airplane that launched in recent years. However, it appears that the R2-D2 Plane will only be characterized by its exterior paint job as there has been no mention of on-board branding, like as with the Hello Kitty plane.
