After more than 75 years in the dairy industry, Canada's Purity Dairy is introducing its first non-dairy milk alternative. Unlike many milk substitutes on the market, this one is crafted with a blend of oats and barley, both of which come from Prince Edward Island Brewing Company.
Thanks to the use of oats, the beverages are said to have a creamy, neutral taste, while the addition of barley helps to enhance the taste of the drink. Available in an original variety, plus classic chocolate and vanilla flavors, the barley and oat beverages can be found in the company's signature two-liter clear plastic cartons.
For the future, the company is also developing a vegan barista blend that can be used by coffee shops.
