It appears that the chicken sandwich wars are still strong with KFC now testing out a bigger and more premium Chicken Sandwich.
Now through June 21, 2020, KFC is testing a premium Chicken Sandwich at select locations in Orlando, Florida. Though the KFC Chicken Sandwich already exists, the premium version will feature a 20% larger double-breaded extra crispy fillet, crispier and thicker crinkle-cut pickles, the Colonel’s real mayo (in Classic or Spicy), and a buttery freshly-toasted brioche bun.
While these may not sound like major changes, KFC actually undertook rigorous testing to create the perfect sandwich. For instance, the brand tested eight variations of pickles to get the perfect thickness and brine, and collaborated with six different bakeries on the perfect brioche bun.
