In an effort to better help people communicate with friends living with depression, Samsung and BBDO Bangkok developed the Predict to Prevent app. For people living with depression, every word often matters. What may be considered appropriate by some could trigger or be interpreted differently by those with depression. This was the basis Samsung and BBDO Bangkok used to build the app, along with research that found that communication via text has much more of a risk when compared to face-to-face conversations.
In order to help people better communicate with those living with depression, the Predict to Prevent app uses predictive phrasing technology. The use of predictive text allows the app to spot potentially harmful messages and instead suggests a more supportive phrase. The Predict to Prevent app is currently available on the Android OS and is compatible with every messaging app in both English and Thai.
