TallerDE2 Arquitectos is Reimagining the Humble Bachelor Pad
Rahul Kalvapalle — December 29, 2014 — Art & Design
The Pop-Up House is a nifty pop-up bachelor pad, designed by Taller DE2 Arquitectos, that is only the latest in an expanding line of modular living spaces located in Spain's capital Madrid. This house brings together utilitarian decor and space-saving furniture to make for a cute little bachelor pad. The architects started with a 20th century apartment before completely manipulating it to fit the simple needs of a 30-something bachelor.
The pop-up bachelor pad is dotted with examples of fold-down furniture which hide cupboards, wardrobes and hidden appliances. As far as appearance is concerned, the modular units do not have a painted or papered finish, something I find gives it a pleasing appearance even though it may not be to everyone's taste.
