Jeff Koons must be eating a lot of spinach lately, because he conjured up the energy to create a crazy amount of artworks, including three giant Popeye sculptures.
He is mostly known for his Balloon Dogs, but Koons is about to outshine them -- literally -- with his lustrous trio of Popeye sculptures. He has been working on them since 2009, but they are finally making their debut. One of the Popeye sculptures will even be featured at auction this month in New York City. The sculpture will be a part of Sotheby’s New York Evening Auction of Contemporary Art.
Auction-goers better bring their bank along with them though if they are planning on betting on it. The Popeye piece that stands at 7 feet tall is rumored to be priced at $25 million.
