The red and black Narciso Rodriguez scoop-neck dress that Michelle Obama rocked on Election Night has received a lot of attention from the fashion-focused. The fact that Mrs. Obama accessorized the wardrobe, however, has practically gone unnoticed.
The future First Lady glammed up her much criticized dress with very expensive earrings. Designed by the exclusive jewelry house Loree Rodkin, “the white-gold, 18 karat, diamond-encrusted, triple-dangle baubles were priced at $11,000,” notes New York Magazine.
Even though Obama’s bling does not compare with Cindy McCain’s ultra expensive jewelry, I feel that a mention was warranted in view of the fuzz created by her dress. And unlike the defeated Republican VP Sarah Palin, Michelle’s expensive jewelery was not purchased with money from her husband’s party.
