La Casa de Botellas or House of Bottles (for those who don't speak Spanish) is a home made of thousands of PET plastic bottles located in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. The Alredo Santa Cruz family, not one of whom is an engineer or architect, designed and built the plastic bottle house to promote ecological and social responsibility.
The plastic bottle house is quite sturdy and uses tetra packs on the rood and CD cases as windows and doors. The furniture that inhabits the interior is also made completely out of repurposed plastic.
The family is also offering free home building courses in Latin American countries in the hopes that more people might use what is normally considered trash to build a sustainable, recycled plastic bottle house.
