Picnic by GamFratesi references the days of leisurely alfresco eating and the domestic practice of mending clothing. A generation ago, similar objects were used to contain bits of fabric, needles and spools of thread, propped up by the very same legs and complete with a broad carrying handle. Remove the supports beneath and you would have yourself an antique picnic basket.
But instead of using oak to reference the former or wicker to allude to the latter, the designers gave the endearing Ligne Roset storage system a contemporary aesthetic of chic black-stained ash wood. Flat and smooth surfaces are subtly sculpted with soft rounded edges and clean lines. Picnic by GamFratesi is an unusual and an iconic piece that will pop amidst your living room decor.
