People are constantly plagued by fears and insecurities, a fact that is reflected in the latest photo series focusing on physical illusion by Lee Griggs. It's not uncommon for people to feel like they're using a funhouse mirror when they look a themselves. Whether feeling short or fat or just plain strange on any given day, this physical illusion is visualized in the series.
In spite of the surreal element of each physical illusion depicted, the images are quite realistic. They were created with the help of 3D scans. Beautiful Decay notes, "The physicality of the pieces find reference in masks but stay within strict perimeter of what is human and doesn’t divert into otherworldly fantasy. Instead it makes something fantastic out of the familiar and has a strong foothold in drawing."
