Pets in the household already influence many purchasing decisions that their owners make on a regular basis and Brazilian pet shop chain Petz is helping consumers make the most of this with its Pet-Commerce. The new feature is powered by artificial intelligence and facial recognition and gives dogs the power to make their own online shopping choices.

Online, Petz has consumers use an Internet-enabled device in front of their dog's face so that the camera can pick up on their unique features, as well as how they react to various pet products. As the Pet-Commerce experience is tailored to pets, it shares videos in a yellow and blue color scheme, which is the most visually appealing to dogs. The smart system analyzes how a dog holds their head and provides a rating on a scale of one to five bones, and when they choose an item, it's added to a shopping cart for their owner to confirm the purchase later.
