You may one day soon be able to trash all of your customer loyalty cards if you own a smartphone and download Perx. Perx is a new app currently only available in Singapore that lets customers replace their wallet full of customer loyalty cards with an app that keeps track of purchases and "stamps" virtually.
Perx was developed by Singapore's Maiplay Pte. and is easy to use for both merchants and customers. When a purchase is made at a store, the customer needs only to scan a QR code provided by the merchant. This QR code acts as a virtual punch in the customer's online loyalty card. When enough punches are acquired the user will be notified and rewarded. Paperless seems to be the way of the future so it only makes sense to ditch the customer rewards cards and take things online.
