The Pernical Bedow ‘Mikkeller’ Label is one smart invention. It quite literally tells you when your beer is ready for your enjoyment and consumption. The label, which was designed by the Danish brewert Mikkeller and graphic design studio Bedow tells you if your beer is the appropriate temperature to drink. The label is printed with a heat sensitive color ink that responds to contact with a heat source. When the label of the bottle gets warm, the snowflake that decorates the label transforms into a sun to reflect that your Pale Spring Ale is warming up. Unfortunately the limit of this bottle was set at 3,500, meaning that only 3,500 of these bottles and labels are going to be made.
This invention is so simple, yet so cleverly useful. Enjoy your beer without worrying what its temperature is -- your label will keep you informed.
