Wearbucks is a Wearable Way to Pay for Coffee at Starbucks
Laura McQuarrie — August 14, 2014 — Tech
If you're an Android user and an avid Starbucks drinker, rather than having to fish through your wallet in search of your phone or some cash, Wearbucks is a new way that you can pay for coffee.
The Android Wear-compatible app is completely free to download and lets you log in with your Starbucks account and plug in a Starbucks card number. Just as you're able to pay for your drinks with the Starbucks mobile app, Wearbucks brings up your account balance and a barcode that can be scanned with just a swipe of the wrist. Although the wearable app's features are not all that different from the official mobile app from Starbucks, being able to wear this form of payment is pretty novel and it would be really convenient when your eyes are still bleary first thing in the morning.
