Staring straight on at the pieces making up the collection called OP-jects by Bilge Nur Saltik, a recent Royal College of Art graduate born in Istanbul, Turkey, and based in London, England, won't necessarily be enlightening. They could easily be taken as traditional glassware found anywhere from vintage shops to William Sonoma. But viewed from above and perspectives completely shift.
OP-jects by Bilge Nur Saltik essentially act like classy kaleidoscopes. The dimpled base act like the eyes of a fly, magnifying and distorting the surface beneath it to create mesmerizing optical illusions. The designer explains, "These objects designed to change the pace of our ordinary life. They will surprise you by unexpected change and distortion on what you see during simply drinking water."
