Buzzard's Roost Whiskey, a woman-led whiskey company based in Louisville, Kentucky, has launched a brand new Toasted French Oak Bourbon that makes use of five-year-old Indiana bourbon that is finished in a two-year seasoned oak from the historical south-central French region of Limousin.
The Toasted French Oak Bourbon therefore takes advantage of the ultra-fine grain material of the French oak, which gives the final product a finely balanced flavor. The end result is a bourbon that has aromas of toasted oak, as its name might suggest, as well as caramel. As far as the flavor is concerned, this bourbon strikes a delightful balance between sweetness and notes of spice.
Made in a limited run of five barrels, this bourbon can be obtained for a price of $85 per bottle.
