The Okuwada Architects Office renovated the Osaka-based salon 'The Mook' using beautiful oak boards that cover the interior from floor to ceiling. This unique architectural design presents a warm and inviting scene inside an all-brick building.
The oak boards completely wrap the salon in a cocoon-like casing using light colored wood and paneled strips. The front of the salon resembles a cave-like appearance with a chamfered entrance and massive street-viewing window. This aspect of the design encourages natural light to flood the interior during the day, while there are ample lamps and overhead lights as well.
The Mook salon received this wood-inspired makeover after 12 years of business using the same interior design. The modernized salon now boasts a welcoming and nature-inspired design concept that will enhance the relaxation of guests.
