Gin Design Group Creates a Design-Forward Layout for This Barbershop
Kalin Ned — January 16, 2023 — Art & Design
The state of the modern barbershop aesthetic just got injected with new vigor as can be seen from men's salon chain Treadwell's second location in southwest Houston. The establishment boasts a radial layout which adds a good balance to the interior. The project was headed by Gin Design Group.
Upon entering, a small and slick curved reception desk meets visitors. The "cutting floor" and the barbers' station are the centerpiece of the radial layout. Gin Design Group emphasized warm materials and colorways—from clean mosaic tiles to wood and woven rattan. These design decisions add a sense of coziness to the modern barbershop design.
Treadwell's also includes a cave-like ar and lounge area, "lined entirely in cork." This feature stays true to the hybrid nature of today's modern barbershops.
