Arent & Pyke Design the Koda Hair Salon with an Eclectic Look
Amy Duong — September 7, 2023 — Art & Design
Local design studio Arent & Pyke designs the Koda hair salon in Sydney, Australia. It is defined by an eclectic visual that blends elements of old themes with modern themes. The space features triangular slabs of terrazzo with a vintage chandelier framing.
The Koda salon is on the upper mezzanine level of the George McRae-designed building of Queen Victoria for Koda. The interior of the space is meant to be "best appreciated from seated height" which is enforced by the mirrors resting at unique angles at the front of the curved styling chairs that contrast the tall ceilings. The studio explains that this is made "given that clients are accustomed to looking up and down."
