Kraft announced the 'NotCheese American Style Plant-Based Slices,' a vegan-friendly alternative to the iconic Kraft American Cheese Slices. The vegan alternative was designed with NotCo, the food technology company working as a joint entity with Kraft to create vegan and plant-based offerings for each of Kraft's iconic dairy products.
The NotCheese American Style Plant-Based Slices are made with coconut oil, corn starch, chickpea protein, and water, making them vegan, and healthier when compared to many competitors.
The initial release of the NotCheese American Style Plant-Based Slices will see three types of dairy-free cheeses on retail shelves, including American, provolone, and cheddar. The products will first be tested in Cleveland, Ohio, at several supermarkets across the state. If this testing phase proves successful, the cheese slices will see a larger nationwide release in 2023.
