The 'NIU SQi' is a high-performance electric bicycle released in China that highly resembles a motorbike. Rather than placing an emphasis on portability and low weights, NIU crafted the SQi to be heavy and powerful, similar to an electric motorbike. Despite this, the SQi still has physical pedals that allow it to be driven like a traditional bike, if desired.
The SQi's motor outputs a maximum of 400-watts, which it uses to achieve a manually-limited max speed of 15 miles per hour. While the bike could travel faster than this, it has been restricted to adhere to local guidelines. The SQi is powered by a 960 Wh or 1,152 Wh battery based on the consumer's selection, each delivering between 40 and 50 miles of range.
The SQi is currently available in China, and will be coming to the western market at an unconfirmed later date.
