Nissan's ProPILOT Auto will bring self-driving features to the next generation of Nissan Leaf.
This new system allows for single-lane autonomous driving, making one's morning commute a little more relaxed. This new system will control the breaks, steering wheel and acceleration to keep a vehicle in its lane and will automatically stop to match the speed of the car in front of it. This is a significant move toward releasing mass-marketed autonomous vehicles. Tesla's 'Autopilot' system is the most advanced self-driving system on the market but Nissan's newest feature will be able to bring this high-tech system to the masses. As new capabilities for Nissan's ProPILOT Auto are developed (like autonomous inner city navigation), they will be released.
Production of this vehicle is slated for September and shipping with start the end of 2017.
