The series titled Nature of the Beast by NFN Kaylan is a collection of glass portraits. These reflective sculptures project the faces of political leaders and other iconic figures like Barack Obama, the current United State's president. The Miami-based artist NFN Kalyan created an optical effect with lasers to add the illusion of volume into his work and make it appear more real to the naked eye.
In order to produce the visual illusion, NFN Kalyan drew the figure and than laser engraved it into over 20 panes. The result is a series of glass pieces layered and put together by a metal bar. Each layer helps to create the 3D effect, making each piece look like a real head. The lights also add intensity and realism to the images.
NFN Kalyan is a talented artist who enjoys finding new techniques to produce new ideas ans interpretations of the world.
