The new Aesop Berlin boutique is the second outpost from the cult skincare brand located in the German capital. Designed by acclaimed Norwegian architecture practice Snohetta, the stylish boutique is situated in a 19th century building that formerly housed a nightclub. Snohetta was inspired to create a retail experience that combined Aesop's style and the neighborhood's historical context.
Staying true to the brand's design aesthetic, the store is characterized by rectangular fixtures, moody spotlighting, oak pillars and other romantic elements that reference the nearby theater. The dramatic lighting adds an additional sense of modernity to the tiny space, which only measures 1,001-square-feet.
While the first is located in Berlin Mitte, the new Aesop shop resides in Charlottenburg in the city's west end.
