People ask celebrities to do all sorts of strange things on Twitter, but when Sara Benincasa said she would make a sizeable charitable donation if Neil Gaiman read the entirety of the Cheesecake Factory menu for all to enjoy, he actually agreed to do it.
Neil Gaiman recently raised $100,000 for the UNHCR to benefit refugees, just by offering to read the whole menu from the beloved restaurant chain out loud. Initially, Sara proposed the deed be done for $500,000 towards the philanthropic organization of his choice, and hopefully that fundraising goal is met. Spawning the #NeilCake hashtag on Twitter, the charity stunt is still looking for contributors on crowdfunding platform Crowdrise. When the objective is achieved, refugees will be aided and the world will be blessed with the audio recording.
