Not using any actual water, this clock has LED lights that move up and down the long hour glass shaped shaft of the device. The smooth flow of the light is reminiscent of the soothing motions of a lava lamp where wax floats up and down inside a glass casing, creating a relaxing aura. This clock also tells the time by either sending pulses of light that you can count, or by slowly filling up one side as the other empties, just like a sand-filled hour glass.
