My City Bikes is a new cycling app that is designed to help cyclists in the town of Knoxville -- particularly those who are just getting started -- to safely discover the best places for them to cycle around town.
Developed by the My City Bikes organization as part of a collaboration with the YMCA of East Tennessee, this cycling app will include information about local biking routes, bike shop locations as well as basic bicycle maintenance tips.
Considering that 34 per cent of Knoxville's adult population is overweight, cycling has come to the fore as a sport and an activity that will enable people to improve their health and their quality of life. My City Bikes acts as an enabler in this regard by giving beginner cyclists the resources they need to feel confident enough to hop on a bicycle.
