Citybike Global, a European micro-mobility service, has signed an agreement with the municipality of Stockholm to launch a new e-bike sharing platform throughout the city. In this case, Citybike Global has chosen to partner with Vaimoo, another smart bike-sharing platform.
As part of the partnership, Viamoo will supply Citybike Global with over 5,100 smart e-bikes, which can be connected to the company's new technology platform. Once launched, the e-bikes will be available to citizens 24 hours a day, all year round and will be connected to a flexible management system for easy rental. In addition, the company will take a hybrid approach to delivering its service, utilizing both station-based and free-floating pick-ups.
The launch of Citybike Global's new service represents yet another example of a European city embracing micromobility -- a increasingly popular form of alternative transportation that emphasizes sustainable design and affordable travel options.
