These modern sofas designed by Fredrikson Stallard entitled Momentum look like they're made from red crater rock pulled from planet Mars. In reality, these avant-garde sectionals are made from a mixture of polyester and fibre glass designed to replicate the aesthetic of rock.
The Momentum collection features a series of pieces including these two sofa designs named Species 1 and Species 2. The designs at first glance might look like large intergalactic hunks of rock but at closer inspection they are comfortable seating for users to lounge on. Despite the rocky aesthetic, the pieces are carved to feature a back rest, arm rests and a seat. Each of the pieces features a red or purple tone complete with indented cavities for texture.
