Volograms, the AR and VR content creation startup has began beta testing for 'Volu', a mixed-reality creation application. This app creates 3D volumetric models by simply recording an object or person for short while with the new iPhone camera.
After recording an object within the application, 'Volu' will handle the rest, from cropping out the target to generating a 3D render to use as a 'vologram' (a volumetric hologram). The 'vologram' can then be used in any video or photo, allowing users to insert themselves or an object of their choice into any scene.
'Volu' also offers a variety of filters and editing tools directly in the app, so users have a lot of freedom in how their resulting 3D 'vologram' appears. 'Volu' is fun and useful for AR developers, content creators, casual creatives, and curious consumers.
