The Mise en Abyme lamp mimics the bare utilitarian fixture that you commonly see in broom closets and warehouses yet the designer opted to make this reference into a more thoughtful and wood-crafted object. Small slices of timber have been sculpted to collectively from the iconic shape of the light globe with a bulbous bottom and a finely ribbed socket screw on top.
The Hall Design piece pays respect to the reliable and once very innovative technology. It seems to have been manufactured so that it can accommodate the newest and most eco-friendly sources of illumination but maintain that recognizable silhouette. From the timber cage-like structure, one length can be removed so that the Mise en Abyme pendant lamp can be maintained and refreshed with a new bulb when needed.
