The Metro Sofa seems fit for a Smurf, all white and different shades of blue. Of course, instead of bringing up images of this children's Saturday morning cartoon, it actually sweeps a wave of serenity over its viewer, as though it were inspired by a calm ocean. Even its minimalist silhouette has an organic presence about it.
Created by Italian designer Luca Nichetto for Italian company Emmegi, the Metro Sofa is actually influenced by an Italian measuring stick. The use of multiple modules, which are defined by color, embodies this idea of measurement quite stylishly. Although some may think rulers as an odd choice for inspiration, in this case it works out beautifully.
Perfect for any space, the Metro Sofa can be arranged as a one-seat armchair or a couch.
