The Method lounge Chair Boasts a Playful Silhouette
Elena Rahman — September 21, 2021 — Art & Design
US brand Blu Dot designed the Method Lounge Chair. The playful piece pairs an unconventional silhouette with mismatched upholstery for a unique design. The Method Lounge Chair is complete with a slim seat and back and armrests et atop an architectural frame.
According to the designers, the chair appears as a "stellar medley of disparate elements" rather than a familiar object. Blu Dot aims to challenge the conventional expectations of furniture through its unorthodox yet completely functional piece. The lounger combines leather upholstery on its seat with velvet upholstery on the backrest. By allocating different fabrics to different components of the armchair, the designers create chair modules that are tied together by a thin steel frame.
