'Kukka' is a design studio based in London that's known for its creation of unconventional bespoke products, a collection that includes a series of metal shelves that complement modern minimalist spaces well.
The series implements fresh design techniques that work to explore the possibilities granted by thin sheets of metal. Titled 'Ridges,' the collection utilizes sharp geometric patterns that come as a result of exact bends in the metal. Each of the pieces hangs closely to the wall, with the metal shelves creating the look of 3D artwork.
Though the shelves themselves do not hold too much, the magnetic surfaces allow consumers to utilize them as useful storage boards. Kukka makes the design more environmentally friendly by taking the cut-out portions of the metal shelves to be made into small triangular trays, ensuring that as little material as possible is made wasteful.
