These Meat Balloons are Freakishly Lifelike
Shiori Mine — May 22, 2012 — Marketing
Fleshy and bloody are not words normally used to describe a store display, but the Japan Premium Beef shop’s meat balloons would certainly challenge that. Although these meaty monsters look like the real deal, they are indeed rubber balloons.
The stretchy morsels were designed as part of the NoHo Design District 2012 for the New York-based butcher. The latex balloons represent popular cuts of beef such as the porterhouse, flank steak, filet mignon and the t-bone. The marbled effect is achieved by using coloring and dripping it onto the balloon former. In addition, no cookout would be complete without a few juicy franks.
These meat balloons are grotesquely realistic, giving Lady Gaga’s fleshy dress a run for its money.
