Two Malaysian designers — Warith Zaki and Amir Amzar, have put forth a Martian colony concept that is different than the rest. As life on Mars is an interesting topic that is covered by many different industries — from architecture to tech, there are a plethora of different options that take advantage of cutting-edge technology and 3D-printing is a great example.
Warith Zaki and Amir Amzar, however, seem to think more sustainably about the concept of a Martian colony and propose that we don't necessarily need to ship materials to the planet. Instead, the vision calls for farming bamboo on Mars and afterwards, using autonomous robots to weave the material into shelters.
