As more and more people turn to computers and e-readers for electronic version of books, the physical ones are beginning to turn into relics, which the Marble Bookmark happens to emphasize. A giant, sculptural page keeper, it is one part art and one part bookshelf. The Marble Bookmark displays the novel being read in such a way that it is itself transformed into a work of art.
Created by British designer Paul Cocksedge, the Marble Bookmark is a more extravagant version of his original Bookmark, which was crafted out of PCV-coated wood. Available in two sizes, table and floor, the Marble Bookmark has a slightly rounded base that allows it to rock soothingly whenever a book is placed on it or taken off. As written on Cocksedge's website, the Marble Bookmark "offers a rest for even the wildest of stories."
