Stinessen Architects created the Malangen Retreat as a unique and unconventional travel experience in the beautiful forests of Troms, Norway.
The resort is made from multiple cabins that are laid out east to west to effectively shield the opening of the forest. Made from recycled wood on the exterior cladding, each cedar panel is treated with iron sulfate to ensure safety and longevity. Each cabin is slightly elevated, with the large windows positioned directly at the view. The modern interiors are comfortable and high-end with luxurious furnishings and amenities.
Taking an unusual twist on the classic cabin by creating a cubic structure, the Malangen Retreat aims to bring guests back to nature while still offering a high-end vacation experience.
