This Madrid Apartment Features Flexible Folding Furniture
Rahul Kalvapalle — June 26, 2015 — Art & Design
This Madrid apartment, developed by architecture firm Elii, is the result of a pretty bold makeover that centered around the installation of flexible folding furniture. This furniture allows for maximum use of space in the apartment, named Susaloon -- after the name of its owner Susana.
The apartment was inspired by a Swiss Army knife, and in addition to folding furniture features small storage nooks. This allows the owner to utilize the full floorspace. The folding furniture includes everything from a bed and dining table to an ironing board and acupuncture table.
This Madrid apartment joins several others in the Spanish capital -- the Pop-Up House, All I Own House and Didomestic, to name a few -- that feature unique and out-of-the-box designs that serve the needs of modern urban apartment dwellers.
