Lydia Bolton Designs a New Streetwear Capsule with Lime
British fashion designer Lydia Bolton works in collaboration with London-based transport imprint Lime on a new collection of streetwear silhouettes that are compatible with cycling. The capsule is inspired by a new study conducted by Lime, where it found that nine in 10 adults would avoid cycling when wearing certain clothing.
It was also found that over half of cyclists would want more high-fashion clothing that is friendly to cycling. From this, the duo presents the Re-Cycle collection that is full of contemporary looks that do not compromise the act of cycling. The sustainable narrative continues with the sources of the clothing garnered from TRAID's London store locations. It uses sleeping stock, thrifted apparel, deadstock fabric, old tents, and more to create new looks.
Speaking about the capsule, Bolton states that “Being able to create everything from defective stock and waste textiles has meant I’ve been able to bring my experience and channel my passion into this project. As Lime has become so synonymous with London’s bustling city culture, I’ve taken cues from the city’s surroundings and current trends to inspire the “Re-Cycle” Collection. I wanted this transitional collection to feel authentic to how Londoners move around and use this city.”
