Swiss architecture studio Lukas Lenherr Architektur introduces a new 1850 barn that is located in Mannedorf, Switzerland. The firm transforms the space into a new and intricate wooden structure from the preexisting space. The entire space is defined by six wooden frames and is accompanied by a series of slabs that create the entire interior of the building.
The main section of the barn was maintained and new spaces are referenced by the sightlines and openings that come together for a seamless and fluid design language. The six aforementioned frames were created using spruce and applied as a main source of support for the old barn during the construction process. Once it was complete, the name of the space was then known as 'Six Frames.'
