At first glance, the interior of the Louisiana State Museum and Sports Hall of Fame could pass off as an ice-covered cavern. Yet clearly the walls are not so naturally formed. Instead, it sports a futuristic aesthetic that could easily have been used on the set of 'Star Wars.' Interestingly, it is set in the oldest settlement in the Louisiana Purchase on the banks of the Cane River Lake.
Designed by Trahan Architects, the Louisiana State Museum and Sports Hall of Fame merges two once separate collections. According to the designers, "[T]he design mediates the dialogue between sports and history, past and future, container and contained." Flowing together visually and physically, the experience is definitely memorable.
The exterior of the Louisiana State Museum and Sports Hall of Fame is much more subdued.
