Louis Vuitton Will Open Its First Men's Store in Beverley Hills

— July 16, 2022 — Business
Luxury fashion label Louis Vuitton has announced the opening of its first dedicated men's store in Beverly Hills, California. Set to open on July 16, the new retail location will be the eighth men's-only store to be offered by the brand, as well as the first to ever launch in California.

The store will sell a wide range of Louis Vuitton products and will focus on the brand's newest fall/winter 2022 collection, which was designed by the late Virgil Abloh, who had been working for the label as Artistic Director since 2018. Aside from the new collection, the store will house a variety of other items, such as leather goods, watches, shoes, and fragrances.

In terms of decor, the store will feature a a17-foot tall ceiling and a massive sculpture of a vibrantly-colored man doing a handstand.

Trend Themes
1. Boyhood-themed Fashion - A trend of fashion lines that incorporate elements traditionally associated with boyhood could be popularized, such as streetwear and athletic wear with nostalgic graphics and colors.
2. Men's-only Stores - Opening men's-only luxury retail locations could be a growing trend, with brands creating dedicated spaces for their male clientele.
3. Posthumous Designers - More companies may employ posthumous designers to curate collections and continue a designer's legacy, as seen with the late Virgil Abloh's collection at Louis Vuitton.
Industry Implications
1. Luxury Fashion - Luxury fashion brands could explore different store concepts, such as men's-only stores and themed pop-ups, to attract and engage with customers.
2. Retail - Retail companies could leverage unique and engaging store concepts, like incorporating art installations, into their strategies to encourage in-person shopping experiences.
3. Design - Design companies could explore new and innovative ways to continue the legacy of a deceased designer, potentially making use of past designs or relying on teams of designers to carry on the vision.
