Joshua Shaun Forde's Design Focyses on Safety & Accessibility
Kalin Ned — August 25, 2022 — Art & Design
One Bull Yard is a multi-functional concept for an LGBTQ+ center, envisioned by Joshua Shaun Forde, an emerging designer and student at the Birmingham School of Architecture and Design.
The arts and culture LGBTQ+ center is designed "to provide a safe space for the output of education, activism, and representation to further extend the positive promotion of LGBTQ+ history and culture." Joshua Shaun Forde drew inspiration from activist causes to settle on a graphic design for the space they envisioned. They also initiated "extensive community engagement" to supplement the visual presence of One Bull Yard, while also enhancing its purpose.
Such queer-affirming spaces are always in high demand as we work to develop a social consciousness that accepts all forms of individual expression.
