Photographer Cristian Girotto has released a truly unique -- and creepy -- photo series, titled 'L'Enfant Exterieur.' This photography collection depicts different adults looking bashfully into the camera. Girotto retouched the photos to make these adults look like toddlers. The resulting photographs show several elf-like creatures with enlarged heads, tiny bodies, oversized eyes and, in the case of the men, stubble that seems a tad out of place.
Girotto created this series to examine "The Outer Child." In other words, he wish to make material the invisible childlike attitude that every adult keeps hidden within them. Indeed, this photo series is ethereal and dreamlike, much like a child's fantasy, or characters from classic children's books. With this photo series, Girotto has proven that, although everyone must grow up physically, we never have to truly let go of our inner (or outer) child.
