Jaime Sánchez Explores the Possibilities of LEGO Use with Colorful Images
Riley von Niessen — September 14, 2016 — Art & Design
Jaime Sánchez, a photographer from Spain, created a project that surrounds LEGO use, in which he transformed the small toy building blocks to be functional everyday objects.
With bright contrasts in color, as well as the artist's unique implementation of LEGO use, the series is stunning to view. Objects standout starkly against one-toned backgrounds well, instantly attracting the viewer's eyes to the tiny tools at the center.
In one image, Jaime Sánchez pretends that one of the blocks is toothpaste -- positioning a narrow piece on top of the bristles. In other works, he expands the LEGO use by having the pieces act as buttons on a gaming controller, or as a tube of vivacious red lipstick.
