If you are a fan of Krispy Kreme donuts, you now have reason to be insanely jealous of Claudine Taylor, who was awarded with this £1000 confection. The world's most expensive donut was created for the UK's National Donut Week through a partnership with Krispy Kreme donuts and Selfridges.
Made out of champagne, the decadent dessert resembles something in between a space ship and a golden floral arrangement. The ingredients include a 2002 Dom Pérignon vintage champagne jelly with a raspberry and Chateau d’Yquem crème. As if this weren't already overdoing it a little, the whole thing was gilded with an edible 24 carat gold leaf while the white chocolate lotus flower was dusted with edible diamonds and 23 carat gold. Additionally, the donut came with a passionfruit and raspberry cocktail made from more 2002 Dom Pérignon and a 500 year old Courvoisier.
