In an effort to keep pace with changing consumer behaviors, Moe’s Southwest Grill has announced that it will become the first Mexican fast casual chain to open a kiosk-only location.
The decision to open the kiosk-only location followed a recent survey, which found that "32 percent of millennials are pre-ordering meals with their mobile devices." To cater to the digital-first generations, Moe's will be opening up two kiosk-only locations near both the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Virginia campuses. Both locations will be outfitted with four self-order kiosks that will accept cash and Apply Pay. The Pittsburgh location will also accept university CC.
With the Pittsburg restaurant able to seat 15 and the Charlottesville restaurant able to host up to 40, Moe's is hoping consumers will dine-in and take meals to go from these self-service restaurants.
